Groundskeeper’s Apprentice, my new job.
I was proud but, a problem soon arose.
The pay sucked.
To make ends meet, I began collecting the fresh blooms left by mourners,
selling them back to local florists, who resold them again.
Repurpose, Reuse, Recycle
Written in the shape of a Gargleblaster!
That’s awful. 😆 Now you know the truth behind those flower “miracles” in graveyards. Congrats tnkerr!

I like your question. Now I need to ponder it. First I have to decide if you meant emotionally different or tactilely different! Could be the subject of a future post…

How sad and awful, but kind of resourceful on his part. Now we know where the flowers go. Brilliant job! ♥

Cool direction with the prompt! Very unique idea! I feel bad for those poor returning mourners asking the prompt question though. 😦

The first thing that popped into my mind was, “Where have all the soldiers gone?” so I had to go somewhere else. Glad you liked it.

I don’t think that the deceased would have an issue with their flowers being used to feed a poor groundskeeper. Like they say, money needs to be spread around to make things grow! I like the practicality of this piece.

What a terrible thing to do, and yet a part of me likes that there would be more use for them.

I can see both sides of this as well. I am certain society would be mortified. And, maybe they should be but then again???
Good to see you here Marcy.

Very practical and resourceful, I say! I love that this perfectly answers the question – it could almost be darkly amusing but then maybe I have a sick mind.

Thanks for that. If you have a sick mind I’m really worried about me!!!

This could be a short story, Thom. I totally want to read more tales about the adventures of this character. Nice job!

Thanks – I’ll have to figure out a way to pull off a story arc with 42 words…? My head’s starting to hurt already.
