Daily Prompt: Edge of the Frame

Daily Prompt: Edge of the Frame

We often capture strangers in photos we take in public. Open your photo library, and stop at the first picture that features a person you don’t know. Now tell the story of that person.

I search for her. It seems that I have always searched for her. I seek Salacia, my wife, the mother of my children. Have you seen her?

The dolphin found her for me once, concealed in the Atlantic, and convinced her to return. To be my bride. But once again she has made off, stolen away in the night. Have you seen her? Have you seen Salacia?

I have searched the calm, sunlit seas and scorned the storms but, tonight; I search above the tides. It is peaceful here and she may be near. I am searching for Salacia. Have you seen her?

Such a plaintive story. The repeat of the question works really well in evoking his loss and desperation. Great story to go with the photo.
