Waiting for a Sign

“On March 9th, 2015, three objects were reportedly seen in the skies over the Borracho Todos los Tiempos Vineyards. Stay tuned to KUFO channel One, Roswell, for further developments in this breaking story.” Jim, the anchorman, straightened the edges of the papers he was pretending to read from and adopted his most authoritative and believable facial expression as he stared straight at the camera.

Jim spent hours each day perfecting his facial expressions and staring into the mirror

“Annnnd… cut,” said the director.

Jim patted his forehead with a tissue and motioned for makeup.

Katie, the cute young weather girl, stared wide eyed at the graphic on the screen.

“Oh no,” she said. “The others are at ‘Borracho Todos’. We’ve kept the beacon running for decades. Now, they’ve finally returned – for us – and I’m not there! I’ll be stuck.”

When she spun to dart from the building she transformed; hairless, with green skin: and Jim had a new facial expression for his repertoire.

  2. Yes, Jim’s definitely perfected his facial expressions. It seems the team had been working with an alien in thier midst – a great idea for a story. An excellent ending, too. 🙂
