The Brigadier’s Wife

mondays-finish-the-story

A body suddenly crashed through a plate glass window at the Brigadier’s house. Startled, everyone turned to see what the commotion was. Luke Danger knelt over the dead girl and checked for a pulse.

“She’s gone,” he somberly announced.

“This can only be the work of Professor Doom,” scowled the Brigadier.

Everyone watched with revulsion as the beautiful dead girl began transforming into a green-skinned, hairless alien. She stood. Long fingers brushed bits of broken glass from her forearms and shoulders.

“Hi guys,” she said, “Sorry about the window, I’m really lost. Does anyone know the way to Borracho Todos? I’m supposed to meet friends there.”

The Brigadier’s wife, Elaine, pointed east, “About three miles that way, I’ll come with you.”

The pair leaped back through the broken glass and ran up the road. Elaine began her transformation, a verdant hue emerging on her skin.

“Perhaps this isn’t Doom’s work after all,” the Brigadier muttered as he watched them disappear into the gloom.
